## Add or edit an entry

1. Use New entry or Create → New entry to open Add a custom entry.
2. Enter Name and optionally Group (optional). A group is trimmed and stored in uppercase.
3. Click the creation button shown: Create first slide, Create first card, Create second card, or Add custom entry.
4. To edit an existing entry, select it and use Edit selected entry, or right-click its row and choose Edit Entry.
5. Change Name or Group (optional), then Save entry changes. Cancel edit abandons the form changes.

Keep in mind: A name is required. Creation is unavailable in a read-only pack, during a blocking import, or at the 2,000-entry limit.

## Renumber and reorder entries

Moving an entry changes the order, rather than giving two entries the same position. Reordering resets sorting to default. With a filtered list, the visible order is merged back into the full list.

1. Click or tap the entry number, or focus it and press Enter or Space.
2. Enter the desired position using Arabic digits or a canonical Roman numeral. The position must be between 1 and the number of entries.
3. Press Enter or leave the number field to save. Escape cancels.
4. Right-click the number to switch between Arabic and Roman display. ContextMenu or Shift+F10 on the number does the same.
5. Alternatively drag vertically to reorder. On touch devices, the number acts as the drag handle. Alt+Up or Alt+Down on a focused list number also moves it.

## Find and select a study set

Use Library Search to find entries by code, name, or note text. A notes match can show a found in notes preview that jumps to the matching passage. A normal click opens an entry; double-click starts a quiz for it or its eligible Gold Star set.

Sort entries offers Default order, Ascending by code, Descending by code, Starred first, and Images. Clicking Images again switches to Images last. That sort counts ordinary front images, not microscope attachments, back-face images, or Canvas.

Use the Gold Star on entries to collect a set. Ctrl/Cmd-click toggles a Gold Star; Shift-click selects a visible range. Select opposite entries inverts visible filtered picks while retaining hidden picks. Deselect all or Escape outside editing clears picks.

## Save and manage a custom study group

Ctrl/Cmd-click toggles additional saved-group selections; Enter/Space selects, and Ctrl/Cmd+Enter/Space toggles. With one group selected, Editing saved group: [name] indicates membership editing: use Library stars or its Remove control to change the group’s members.

Groups are reusable selections, separate from an entry’s Group code. Deleting a saved group does not delete its entries. Ctrl/Cmd+Z can restore the recently deleted group set when that saved-group list or delete control has focus.

1. Gold Star at least one entry in the Library.
2. Optionally enter Name current gold picks group. If left blank, the app uses an available Saved group N name.
3. Click Save as group. A duplicate normalized name is refused; choose a different name.
4. Open Quiz → Saved custom groups to choose the saved set. Save the pack to include its groups in an external file.
5. For exactly one selected saved group, use Rename selected group, edit its name, and click Save name or press Enter. Escape cancels.
6. Use Delete selected saved group or Delete N selected groups, then its Delete this group? or Delete N groups? confirmation to remove groups.

## Use the entry menu and delete safely

The menu can also open from the selected entry’s title card or card body. Dedicated controls keep their own interactions, including the number’s Arabic/Roman right-click behavior. Moving your finger, scrolling, or lifting it early cancels long press.

The main Delete selected entry / Delete selected entries action has a broader target: it deletes the Gold Star set when there is one, otherwise the current entry. Read its changed confirmation label before the second click. Deleting an entry also removes its attached media.

1. Right-click the body of a side-panel entry row. On a phone or tablet, hold the row still until the menu opens.
2. Choose Edit Entry to open that entry’s existing edit form.
3. To delete that one entry, choose Delete Entry, then click Delete Entry? again to confirm.

## Copy entries to another pack

Importing copied entries is separate from opening a pack file: it appends copies, up to the 2,000-entry limit, and clears the entry clipboard after success. Browser clipboard permissions vary; the same-browser Import button can remain available even when a cross-browser clipboard transfer cannot be made.

These shortcuts keep native text copying while you edit/select text. Use Library Undo/Redo where available; undo history is not a permanent backup.

1. Select the entry or Gold Star set and use Copy entry / Copy entries (N), or Copy card / Copy cards (N) in Flashcards. Ctrl/Cmd+C also works outside text editing.
2. Open the destination pack of the same system after saving work you need to keep.
3. Use Import entry / Import entries (N), or Ctrl/Cmd+V, to append the copied entries and their media.

## Keep entries in the desktop dock

On desktop, dragging a list row horizontally toward an edge can place its entry or Gold Star set in Dragged entries. Click an item to open it; double-click or Return sends it back to the list. Clear all (N) clears the dock, not the library entries.

Number dragging stays vertical for reordering. On touch devices, the row body keeps scrolling and long-press behavior rather than this desktop dock gesture.

## Questions and answers

### How do I add or edit an entry?

Use New entry, fill Name and optional Group (optional), and click the creation button. To change an existing entry, select it and choose Edit selected entry, or right-click its row and choose Edit Entry. Finish with Save entry changes.

### How do I open the entry menu on a phone?

Hold the body of a side-panel entry row still. The same menu offers Edit Entry and Delete Entry. Scrolling, movement, or an early release cancels the hold. Tap the entry number to edit its order instead.

### Does Delete Entry in the context menu delete all my Gold Stars?

No. The context menu deletes only the entry whose menu you opened, after a second Delete Entry? click. The separate main Delete selected entries action targets the Gold Star set when there is one.
