Finish entry drafts, open the Save dropdown, and choose This device or Google Drive. Use Save as… for a first device file or a separate new copy. Save updates an existing owned linked destination when supported. Wait for completion and check the top-bar status.
Read the Saving and files guideHow do I save to Google Drive?
Sign in, finish local drafts, then choose Save dropdown → Google Drive → Save or Save as…. Review the save chooser’s filename and final action. Update selected file / Update matching file updates an existing file; Save as new file creates another private file. Wait for the save result.
Read the Google Drive guideWhat is the difference between Save and Save as…?
Save updates an established writable device file or your owned linked Drive pack. Save as… chooses a separate named destination; on Drive it creates a new private file. A browser download without a file-picker link needs another Save as… for the next exported copy.
Read the Saving and files guideHow do I import a pack?
Choose Create → From device, select a .gqb or .gqa file, and use Open pack with its confirmation. For a private Drive file use From Google Drive → Choose from Google Drive; for public material use Shared packs → Open pack. Save current work first because import replaces the target system’s local library.
Read the Import and export guideWhat does Download in Shared packs do?
It saves your own copy of the public pack in Google Drive and requires sign-in. It is different from This device → Save as…, which exports a device file. Open pack can open the shared read-only version without making an editable owned copy.
Read the Shared packs and publishing guideHow do I reopen a pack updated on another device?
Use Reopen pack after the Update available notice. Review Reopen latest version? and confirm. If local changes exist, the confirmation is Discard local changes? Save a separate copy first if you want to retain those changes.
Read the Google Drive guideWhat happens if I have local edits and another device updated the pack?
The app reports a conflict rather than automatically merging. Save as… preserves a separate local copy; Reopen pack loads the latest remote file after confirmation; Save anyway then Confirm overwrite deliberately replaces the remote version with your local work.
Read the Google Drive guideWhere is my data stored?
Local work is held in this browser. Device backups are files you save yourself. Private Drive packs stay in your Google Drive and become public through Share. Saving your profile can separately update its public author fields. Browser-local storage can be removed by sign-out, Reset app, or browser cleanup.
Read the Saving and files guideCan I use ColloqAid without signing in?
Yes. Local editing, studying, device pack files, and public browsing are available without an account. Private Google Drive access, cloud profiles, public sharing, and some community actions require sign-in. In the connection window, Continue locally for now keeps local use available.
Read the Getting started guideWill signing out keep unsaved packs in this browser?
Do not assume that. Sign-out clears browser-local app/session data. Save your packs to device files or Google Drive first. Already saved external files and published packs are not deleted by signing out.
Read the Accounts and profiles guideWhat keyboard shortcuts are available?
The Keyboard shortcuts guide lists note formatting, Find, Hyperlink, Quiz blank, undo/redo, entry selection/copy/order, quiz Check/Reveal, and viewer navigation. Most Ctrl shortcuts also accept Command on macOS, but Quiz blank is Ctrl+Q specifically. Each shortcut depends on focus and app context.
