ColloqAid Help
Google Drive
Choose private packs, save owned copies, reconnect known files, and handle remote updates safely.

Connect and open a private Drive pack
ColloqAid uses files you created through the app or explicitly chose. The known-pack list is not a scan of all files in your Drive. If a remembered file is inaccessible, choose it through the picker once to reconnect it.
- Open the account menu and choose Sign in, or follow the connection prompt. Continue locally for now skips cloud use.
- Choose Create → From Google Drive.
- Click Choose from Google Drive and select the pack in Google’s picker.
- Confirm the opening/import choice shown before replacing current local work.
Save a pack to Google Drive
- Finish local drafts and connect your account.
- Open the Save dropdown and choose Google Drive → Save, or Save as… for a separate new file.
- In Choose where to save or Save as new Drive file, review the filename and any existing file selection.
- Read the confirm action: Update selected file or Update matching file changes that existing file; Save as new file creates another file.
- Confirm and wait for the save result. Later Save updates your owned linked pack.
Find and manage known Drive packs
Account menu → Google Drive opens Packs in Google Drive. Use Search known packs, filters All known packs / Flashcards / Study Notes / Shared packs / Private packs, and Alphabetical: A–Z or Size: Largest first. Refresh known Drive packs refreshes the known list.
Click a pack title to rename it inline. Own private packs can offer Share and Delete; own shared packs can offer Edit, Stop sharing, and Delete. In the shared row’s Edit form, Pack title and Subject * must be filled before metadata saving. A remembered inaccessible file can offer Reconnect or Forget from list. Read the action’s confirmation before changing or deleting a file.
For a file missing from the list, use Choose from Google Drive. Forget from list is a remembered-list action; it is distinct from deleting the actual Drive file.
Reopen a pack updated on another device
Reopening replaces the local view with the selected remote pack. It is not an automatic merge. Check that you are reopening the correct pack, especially when you also have a shared version and an owned private copy.
- Review the Update available notice. The current browser keeps its already opened version until you choose to load the new one.
- If you have work to keep, save a separate copy first.
- Choose Reopen pack or the pack’s reopening action.
- Review the inline Reopen latest version? confirmation, or Discard local changes? when local edits exist.
- Confirm the reopening action to load the latest remote version.
Choose what to do with a save conflict
An overwrite requires the second confirmation. If the remote revision changes again or the confirmation expires, review it again. ColloqAid does not silently combine two independently edited pack files.
| Your aim | Safe choice |
|---|---|
| Keep both versions | Save as… to a separate file first; then Reopen pack to inspect the remote version. |
| Use the remote version | Choose Reopen pack and explicitly confirm discarding local changes. |
| Replace the remote version with local work | Use the offered Save anyway action, then Confirm overwrite after reviewing the conflict. This intentionally replaces the remote file. |
When a connection expires
Reconnect when a Google action asks you to sign in again. If one known file is inaccessible, use Choose from Google Drive to select that file once rather than expecting the app to search your entire Drive.
Use Save status and Status history to distinguish a pack save from separate profile/app-memory sync. Background app-memory sync does not mean unsaved pack edits have been written to the pack file.
Questions and answers
How do I save to Google Drive?
Sign in, finish local drafts, then choose Save dropdown → Google Drive → Save or Save as…. Review the save chooser’s filename and final action. Update selected file / Update matching file updates an existing file; Save as new file creates another private file. Wait for the save result.
How do I reopen a pack updated on another device?
Use Reopen pack after the Update available notice. Review Reopen latest version? and confirm. If local changes exist, the confirmation is Discard local changes? Save a separate copy first if you want to retain those changes.
What happens if I have local edits and another device updated the pack?
The app reports a conflict rather than automatically merging. Save as… preserves a separate local copy; Reopen pack loads the latest remote file after confirmation; Save anyway then Confirm overwrite deliberately replaces the remote version with your local work.
Why is a file not in Packs in Google Drive?
The list contains known app-created or previously selected packs, not every file in your Drive. Use Choose from Google Drive to select an arbitrary private pack. Use the same picker to reconnect a remembered file that is no longer accessible.
