Mobile and tablet
Use touch menus, swipe studying, fullscreen drawing, and large-pack or phone-version choices.

Use the touch interactions
Browser fullscreen and file-picker support vary. A denied native fullscreen request still leaves the drawing workspace at the available viewport size. Device exports can fall back to a named download instead of a linked writable file.

Open a large pack on a touch device
The available choices depend on the pack source, size, and device capabilities. Drive-linked mode is not offered for every file. Browser storage quotas and memory differ across phones, tablets, and desktops.
- Save existing local work before importing another pack.
- Open the pack normally. If the app offers a Large touch-device import, Very large touch-device import, or Huge touch-device import choice, review it.
- Choose Use Drive-linked mode when available for that source, or Try full import on this device when you want the full local import.
- Use Cancel to keep current work. If storage or memory is insufficient, free space, close other heavy tabs, or use a suitable phone version.
Keep phone versions separate from originals
The Drive workflow can create a mobile companion for suitable large packs in Mobile versions, commonly named with a - mobile suffix. The original remains the high-quality desktop pack; not every small pack needs a companion.
A phone/mobile version is intended for phone import and is rejected as a desktop import. On a computer, choose the original high-quality .gqb/.gqa file instead of overwriting it with a phone copy.
When editing a linked phone version, Save changes can save phone edits for the original. The result can say Phone edits saved. They will update the original Google Drive pack when opened on a computer. Open the original on a computer to apply those edits before updating the shared version.
If an added phone image is too large for that path, follow the message and perform the update on a computer. Do not use a reduced phone copy to replace the original as a shortcut.
Choose a supported study surface
On mobile, Study Mode from Notes requires note content. Opening it from Canvas uses the mixed study view and expands Canvas. Microscope-only entries use Identify quizzes and their own Inspect viewer rather than Study Mode.
If a control is hidden or unavailable, check the selected system, read-only state, media requirements, connection, and active import/save before assuming a touch failure. The same underlying quiz and file behavior applies across devices, with capability-based fallbacks.

Can I open a phone version on my computer?
Use the original high-quality .gqb/.gqa file on a computer. Phone/mobile versions are restricted to phone import to avoid replacing the original with reduced content. Linked phone edits are saved separately for application when the original opens on a computer.
