Accounts and profiles

Sign in, edit your profile and avatar, open author profiles, and prepare safely for sign-out.

Use the account menu

The account menu also offers Switch library, Appearance, Settings, Feedback & suggestions, and Sign out. The connection prompt’s Continue locally for now keeps local use available.

  1. Click the profile/avatar button labelled Open account menu.
  2. Choose Sign in when anonymous and complete the Google connection.
  3. Choose View your profile when signed in, or Google Drive to manage known packs.

Edit your own profile

Status can read Saved, Changes pending, Saving..., Save failed, Loading profile..., Private profile missing, or Reconnect to load. A private profile save and a public profile update are separate outcomes; check Status history if a public update fails.

Public author profiles show the information intended for sharing. Avoid placing private contact or study information in public profile fields.

  1. Choose View your profile.
  2. Edit Display name, Short bio, University, Language, Semester, or Support links as needed.
  3. Watch the save status. Changes schedule saving automatically; there is no separate profile Save button.
  4. Use Close when finished. It waits for required pending profile work; if saving fails, resolve the status before leaving.

Choose a profile image

You can keep up to four custom avatars alongside the permanent Google avatar. Upload controls hide at that limit. Remove deletes a custom option immediately; the Google option is Permanent. Animated GIF uploads are not supported.

  1. In your profile, choose Upload custom avatar.
  2. Use Choose file for a still JPG/JPEG, PNG, or WebP under 10 MB, or By URL → Add for an image URL.
  3. Adjust Crop avatar, then Add avatar. Cancel abandons the crop.
  4. Click the avatar you want to select it. The selection saves with the profile.

Open another person’s public profile

In Shared packs, click the author’s avatar or displayed name. Author Profile is the shared public profile, with that person’s public bio, support links, and packs. Custom profile images are used when available; initials are a fallback.

A public profile does not expose the author’s private Drive library or private study notes. Anonymous visitors do not have an authenticated public-user profile.

Save before signing out

  1. Finish drafts and save every local pack you need to keep to a device file or Google Drive.
  2. Open the account menu and choose Sign out.
  3. Review the changed Click again to sign out control, then click again to confirm.

Questions and answers

How do I set my own avatar?

Open View your profile → Upload custom avatar. Choose a supported still image or use By URL → Add, crop it, and choose Add avatar. Click the desired avatar to select it. Up to four custom options can sit beside the permanent Google avatar.

Where is the profile Save button?

There is no separate Save button. Profile changes schedule saving automatically. Check the status, then Close; Close waits for required pending work. A reported public update failure should be reviewed separately from a private profile save.

Will signing out keep unsaved packs in this browser?

Do not assume that. Sign-out clears browser-local app/session data. Save your packs to device files or Google Drive first. Already saved external files and published packs are not deleted by signing out.
