Study Notes

Build entries with notes, images, microscope slides, and drawings, then choose how to study them.

Checked against the current app on 2026-10-03.

What belongs to an entry

Select an entry in the side panel. Notes and Canvas are two views of the entry’s study content. Images for this entry contains its ordinary images and microscope attachments.

An entry has a Name, an optional Group, and an order number. Its name is also the answer for an Identify question. Adding an entry alone does not make it ready for every study or quiz mode.

Write and save notes

  1. Select your entry and open Notes.
  2. Click Edit notes. The control changes to Editing notes while you work.
  3. Type or paste content and use the editor tools. Select answer text and use Quiz blank if you want fill-in questions.
  4. Click Save notes. Cancel restores the previously saved note.
  5. Save the pack when you want those changes written to your device or Drive file.

Add visual study material

  • Upload image opens the image editor. Save image adds the prepared image to the entry.
  • Tag Microscope Slide selects a hosted microscope slide and saves its current preview, center, and zoom.
  • Canvas → Edit canvas opens the drawing workspace. Save canvas stores it in this entry.
  • Microscope attachments appear before ordinary images, with their Histology, Pathology, or Embryology category styling when available. A divider separates the two groups.

What is the difference between Study Notes and Flashcards?

Study Notes combines rich notes, multiple images, microscope attachments, and a separate Canvas per entry. Flashcards uses front/back faces that you flip and rate. Tapes, Identify, and Tag Microscope Slide belong to Study Notes; they do not appear as an Images for this entry panel in Flashcards.
