Keyboard shortcuts
Find the shortcuts implemented by ColloqAid, with the context where each command applies.
Checked against the current app on 2026-10-03.
While editing notes
Cmd means Command on macOS; Ctrl means Control on other keyboards. Ctrl+Q is deliberately the exception. Shortcuts apply inside the editor and do not promise to override browser/operating-system commands elsewhere.

| Ctrl+Q | Toggle Quiz blank for selected answer text inside one paragraph/list item. Control only, not Command; no Alt/Shift. |
| Ctrl/Cmd+F | Find within note. |
| Ctrl/Cmd+K | Open Hyperlink for the current note selection/caret. |
| Ctrl/Cmd+Z | Undo. |
| Ctrl/Cmd+Y or Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+Z | Redo. |
| Enter / Shift+Enter in Find | Next / previous match. |
| Tab / Shift+Tab in a table | Next / previous cell; Tab in the last cell adds a row. |
| Enter in a Checklist | Next item; an empty item exits the list. |
| Tab at a quiz-blank boundary | Insert a space outside the blank when the boundary handler applies. |
| ArrowDown / ArrowUp on a toolbar menu | Open and focus the first / last option. |
| Escape in a toolbar menu | Close and restore focus to its control. |
In the ordinary Library

| / or a printable character | Focus Library Search when you are not typing, studying a quiz, or inside a blocking overlay. A typed character starts the query. |
| Escape in Library Search | Clear a nonempty search, or leave an empty field. |
| Escape outside editing | Clear Gold Star picks. |
| Ctrl/Cmd-click an entry | Toggle its Gold Star. Shift-click selects a visible range. |
| Ctrl/Cmd+C / Ctrl/Cmd+V | Copy current/Gold Star entries and paste copies, outside text editing/selection and blocking dialogs. |
| Delete | Initiate the inline entry deletion confirmation outside typing, quizzes, Canvas editing, and blocking overlays. |
| Ctrl/Cmd+Z / Ctrl/Cmd+Y / Ctrl/Cmd+Shift+Z | Library undo / redo when the relevant library handler is active. |
| Enter / Space on an entry number | Edit its order; Enter saves and Escape cancels. |
| Alt+Up / Alt+Down on a list number | Move the entry among the visible order. |
| ContextMenu / Shift+F10 on a number | Switch Arabic/Roman display. |

In quizzes and viewers

| Escape in an attachment viewer | Close the attached microscope view. |
| Enter / Space on the Study Mode heading | Expand/collapse its entry header/list. |
| Up / Down / Home / End / Escape on the mobile Study Mode image resize handle | Increase / decrease / minimize / maximize / reset its panel size. |
| Enter on timer digits | Toggle the timer; digits and Backspace/Delete edit the duration. |

What keyboard shortcuts are available?
The Keyboard shortcuts guide lists note formatting, Find, Hyperlink, Quiz blank, undo/redo, entry selection/copy/order, quiz Check/Reveal, and viewer navigation. Most Ctrl shortcuts also accept Command on macOS, but Quiz blank is Ctrl+Q specifically. Each shortcut depends on focus and app context.
