Create a card
- Switch to Flashcards and create or open a pack.
- Choose New entry, enter Name and optionally Group (optional), then use the creation button shown.
- On the card’s front, choose Add text, Upload image, or Canvas. Add the content and use the corresponding Save control.
- Flip to the back and add the answer or explanation in the same way.
- Save the pack to retain the card in a device or Drive file.
Edit the front and back
Text faces offer Add text or Edit text, A− / A+ sizing, color controls, and Save. Image faces offer controls such as Replace image, Edit image, and Import image. Canvas faces offer Canvas or Edit canvas.
Click or tap the card away from its editing controls to flip it when a back exists. Space also flips the Library card when you are not typing. The separate Study Notes editor and Images for this entry controls are not shown in Flashcards.
Practice a card set
Flashcards quizzes use self-rating rather than the typed Check and Reveal controls of Study Notes. Answered Tape covers in card images can supply additional recall prompts. Study Mode is a Study Notes feature.
- Open Quiz and choose your set, such as All study-ready entries or a saved group.
- Click Shuffle and start.
- Read the front and click or tap the card to flip it.
- Choose I know or I don't know. The quiz advances automatically after the rating.
- On touch devices, swipe right for I know or left for I don't know.
- At the end, repeat missed cards or start another round.
Questions and answers
Can text and an uploaded image share one Flashcard face?
The current card face editor switches between text, image, and Canvas content. Changing to text or uploading an image replaces the other content type on that face. For an annotated image, use the image editor; for mixed written material, use Study Notes.
How do I answer a Flashcards quiz?
Flip the card, then choose I know or I don't know. You can also swipe right or left respectively on touch devices. Rating advances to the next card automatically.
